In 1983, Marinka Serru taught her the basic techniques of ceramics. During her university studies and even during the period Hilde lived abroad in the Far East, ceramics remained her big passion and clay was her companion. Back in Belgium, after the birth of her son, she was coached by Katrien Van Lerberghe, Yvi De Backer and Jozef Van Mierlo. Her works are figurative, with a touch of fairy tale.
