As the first industrial use of 3D veneer-molding technology, it was a striking proof of the possibilities of 3D-molding and set a new benchmark in craftsmanship. Quickly recognized as a classic, the chair won multiple awards and was inducted into the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
Conceived by the Danish studio Komplot Design the GUBI 3D Chair Collection includes an upgraded veneer edition and a new recycled-plastic version, both available in dining chair, lounge chair, and counter and bar stool variations. The veneer options are crafted from FSC® Mix-certified oak or American walnut and wood from other controlled sources (FSC® C176589) with a range of upholstery fabrics. Also suited to outdoor use, the more casual recycled plastic edition can be supplied in three colors – Black, Lunar Gray, and Alabaster White. The collection is exceptionally versatile: there’s a GUBI 3D Chair for every setting and style.
