In a creative process that takes its inspiration from natural landscapes manipulated by human intervention, Baxter elaborates ceramics into new forms of outdoor design. One minute looking to the informal art of Alberto Burri, the next to the busy irregularities of the boundless spaces of the Earth, they are encapsulated in Keramikè. Low tables available in three sizes: the smallest, with its compact silhouette, is perfect to complete a corner designed for a tête-à-tête; the intermediate size offers a modest place to rest objects between patio seating; the large version, with the solidity of its presence, furnishes the garden. Balanced between the animated surface of the top, just like those bare expanses of which it gives an interpretation, and the soft dynamism of the two semi-curved slabs of the base arranged like an embrace, the aesthetic quality of these accessories lies in the feeling of lightness they convey. The enamelled finishes, in the Avio, Prune and Sucre shades, blur the gentle reliefs of Keramikè’s profile into light blue mimeses of air and water, brimming with earth and quick off the mark in the greens of the vegetation. Each, in turn, available in three different shades, from the lightest to the most intense, they increase the range of possibilities with which these tables can coexist with their surroundings. Colours and glazes thus generate a saturated, mirror-like effect that establishes a sophisticated dance of gazes with those who approach them. An ironic play on reflections to dress up the outdoors with new possibilities.
