What makes Gebrüder Thonet Vienna stand out?
The history of the brand dates back to 1853, when Michael Thonet and his 5 sons started a business under the name "Gebrüder Thonet". He abandoned the more traditional technique of laminated laminated wood in favor of an industrial chemical process - mechanical steam bending. This innovation enabled the launch of a wide production of wooden furniture, presenting a collection of elegant and practical designs. The use of technological innovations and the growing brand recognition initiated cooperation with the most important Viennese architects - Otto Wagner and Adolf Loos. With the end of World War II in Austria, the brand was revived by Michael Thonet's great-grandson - Fritz Jakob Thonet. In 1976 the name was changed to its current one.
Today, the brand combines tradition with the new. In addition to a series of timeless classics, it uses the latest innovative technologies and materials, creating multifunctional items that harmonize with Thonet's iconic furniture. It is open to the future, but without abandoning the values on which it was built.
