Balling-Engelsen A/S, a Danish manufacturer of technical polyurethane foam. The SOFTLINE brand was created to use this versatile foam and develop innovative, functional furniture for the modern lifestyle. In 1980, Kurt Brandt, a talented and award-winning Danish designer, became the brand's designer. His PAX sofa bed became a huge success. Just like subsequent products created for SOFTLINE, which placed the brand on the maps of contemporary design. Since 2003, SOFTLINE A/S has been an independent, private company with a factory in Denmark, where upholstery crafts are made by hand based on Scandinavian traditions - from environmentally friendly materials.
